Christmas Bar Hours
The bar will be open on normal evenings over Christmas apart from the following:
Thursday 22nd December - closed.
Tuesday 27th December - closed
Thursday 29th December - closed
Saturday 31st December - closed.
Premier Status Retained
Congratulations to Scott Harries and all his team on retaining their place in the Shropshire Premier League with 8 winners and a 31 shot playoff victory against contenders Adderley at Old Shrewsbury last night. Full scores are on the results service here and Statto's match report is here.

The Club Doubles scheduled for Sunday 4th September has been cancelled due to lack of entries.
In its place, we intend to hold a doubles competition on Tuesday 27th September, 7pm start. This is the week after the last match in the Highley League.

If anyone is interested, Community Resource, in partnership with Bridgnorth Lions Club, will be holding a free Fitness Test and Falls Prevention event for over-60's in the Castle Hall on Friday 26th August. Appointments include a one-to-one fitness test, a short film and talk on reducing the risk of falling, a demo of how to get up from the floor and a short chair-based exercise class. Each appointment takes 2 1/2 hours, is free of charge but must be booked in advance.

A taster bowling session will be held at the club on Monday 25th April from 7pm. Anyone interested in taking up Crown Green Bowls is very welcome to attend, equipment provided.

At last night's Mid-Shropshire League AGM, the following proposals were agreed:
Minor management rule changes.
Change to Harris Cup rules to eliminate the need for replays.
Friday night teams (divisions 1-3) will have 10 players instead of 12.
The 'named 8's' will reduce to 'named 6's'.
No 'doubling up' will be allowed.
Steve Wall replaces Dave Evans as Vice Chairman of the league and John Palmer replaces Ric Hudson as Fixture Secretary.

Due to the predicted state of the river, we have decided to postpone the AGM by a week. It will now be held on Tuesday 1st March at 8pm.
The date for the AGM has been changed. It will now take place on Tuesday 22nd February at 8pm in the clubhouse. The cutoff time for proposals from members is now midnight on 15th February.

Updated 23Feb22Notice of Annual General Meeting
The 137th Annual General Meeting of the Bylet Bowling Club will be held on Monday 14th February 2022 at 8.00pm in the clubhouse. The nomination form for members to serve as club officers and committee is on the board in the club.
Any proposals from members for discussion at the meeting should be given in writing to the secretary by midnight on 7th February.
There are no proposals from the Management Committee.
The minutes of the last AGM held in 2020 are here. There was no meeting in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The AGM will be followed by a Bowling Meeting at which the number of teams we will be entering in the various leagues will be discussed and nominations for team captains will be invited. All bowlers, old and new are urged to attend.
