Twenty members enjoyed some early summer sunshine (although it did go rather chilly later on). In the end, Rob Fuller bowled brilliantly to beat Rob Smith 21-6 in the final. Semi-finalists were Pete Driver and Chris 'Chambo' Chamberlain.

Club Doubles Sun May 30th
Twenty four members enjoyed a lovely day together with hot dogs and burgers provided by Kath Driver. Section 'A' winners Dave Elliott & Jonny Garbett beat section 'B' winners John Palmer & Dave Stone 21-12 in the final.

Captain's Day Sun June 20th
Thirty three members played in the competition on what was probably a perfect day for bowling. They and many more also enjoyed a sumptuous tea prepared by Kath Driver, Fiona Hammond, Ann Parton, Beryl Steadman and Ruth & Sue Garbett. The piece de la resistance (what's the French for that?) were the puddings created by Margaret Baker.
Slightly embarrassingly, the competition was won by the Captain, John Palmer who beat Sue Stone in a closely fought final. Losing semi-finalists were Terry Hammond and Joe Giddings.

Challenge Cup Sun July 4th
Twenty four members enjoyed a good afternoon's bowling and Secretary Tom McGill regained the cup with a 21-7 final win over Matt Ealey. Losing semi-finalists were Dave Elliott and Albert Cornes

President's Day Sun July 11th
Twenty three members enjoyed a good day's bowling and a barbecue provided by the president Bob Renke. Bob bowled well to get to the semi-final but the deserved winner was Pete Driver who found a good weight on a very fast surface and beat Tom McGill in the final. In the other semi-final, Pete recovered from a bad start to beat Terry Field.

Ladies Day Sun August 8th
I'm afraid that I don't know the full details but in the end, Sue Stone beat Irene Wood in the final.

Ten pairs entered the final competition of the season and following some good bowling and excellent food donated and prepared by Irene Wood, experienced pair Scott Harries & Brian Walters beat youngsters Matt Ealey & Jon Garbett 21-12 in the final
