Club Overview

The Bylet Bowling Club was founded in 1884 and occupies an island in the River Severn in Bridgnorth, UK.

We play 'Crown Green' bowls and have two greens. The club has fourteen different teams which play in a number of local leagues:
Shropshire Premier League (Friday evenings)
Mid-Shropshire League (two teams on Friday and one on Monday evenings)
Dudley Building Society League (Saturday afternoons)
Highley League (four teams on Tuesday evenings)
Ludlow League (Thursday evening)
Mid-Shropshire Senior Citizens League (three teams on Wednesday afternoons)
Telford Ladies League (Monday afternoon).

In addition, during the close season, we play indoor short-mat bowls in the clubhouse as well as darts, dominoes, crib, whist and bingo. The club also holds a number of social functions details of which can be found on the events page.

For the 2018 season, subscription fees are as follows:
Bowling Member £35.00
Social Member £15.00

Following the decision by SCGBA to increase the player levy from £1 to £2 at the 2015 AGM, an extra £1 will be charged for all members who play league bowls and whose primary affiliation is to the Bylet.

The Club Constitution is available for download on the Documents page here.

You can read an interesting article about the club published on the Pitchcare website in 2012 here.
